Musk Opens Grok to Take on OpenAI

Elon Musk changes the game by making Grok, his AI, open source in the midst of a battle against OpenAI. Musk announced on X his decision to make Grok open source.

This decision brings OpenAI's collaboration with Microsoft into doubt; Musk describes the deal as a departure from their first agreement to advance AI for the benefit of humanity. Microsoft has poured over $3B into OpenAI, fueling the flames.

Musk's bid asks OpenAI to keep its promise to promote free AI progress. Following Musk's legal action, OpenAI reinstated CEO Sam Altman to the board, citing his reliability.

Grok picks up real-time news and addresses sensitive issues that other AIs generally ignore. According to the findings, only verified X users may use Grok, which outperforms ChatGPT-3.5 but falls short of ChatGPT-4.
