The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has given eToro a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) registration. This registration, known as eToro Europe Digital Assets, will allow eToro to offer regulated crypto services across the European Union after the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) takes effect in December 2024.
Hedva Ber, eToro's Deputy CEO, noted that this shows that eToro is prepared to enter the new crypto era once MiCA takes effect. With the CySEC registration, other companies, such as Bybit Exchange, are expanding in the EU.
This crucial move follows eToro's earlier regulatory successes in Spain and France.
The CASP registration is a significant step in eToro's strategic preparation for impending legislation, which is critical for seamless, extended services across the EU's crypto market.
