These days, all the range seems to be non-fungible tokens and their emergence in the world of digital tech. Yet, NFTs, as useful as we can make them, is still art.
Since like attracts like, what if digital art attracts another kind of art, say, comedy? Well, that's how projects like Comedy Monster Club — a comedy NFT project — are born.
What is the Comedy Monsters Club?
We all like to laugh, don't we?
So imagine buying an NFT that allows you to choose your lineup of favorite comedians for a comedy festival. And imagine that same NFT serving as your ticket to the festival.
Sounds amazing, doesn't it? Well, now, thanks to Comedy Monsters Club, this is possible.
This project was born in 2021 in the middle of the NFT boom. It is being fueled by a rather unusual alliance: Bobby Comedia, a comedian; JD, a lover of NFTs, and David Roa, an investor and financial expert.
Bobby Comedia explains what the Comedy Monsters club is in a nutshell: 10,100 collectible NFTs with access to the first NFT Comedy Club on the planet.
“The Monsters live for our purpose which is to generate the greatest amount of experiential, material, and economic benefits for our community while improving the world through humor", he said.
But the monster story is a bit more complex — and fun.
As they explain on their website, the year was 2020 and the monsters were in cryptocurrency mines. These monsters, however, were not ordinary at all. They were comedy lovers. They used their free time in the mines to watch videos of their favorite comedians.
Yet, along came the pandemic and everything changed.
After the health crisis, three founding monsters decided to get together. The plan was simple: create a comedy community that captures their own experiences. But that was not enough, they wanted to give all the power to monsters just like them.
Now, the mission is different. Long gone are the days of the mines for them as they are now organizing experiences. And these unique experiences will be brought to life with their favorite comedian's live.
The Monsters Collection
In the beginning, there are 100 original monsters. Yet, all of these monsters went through a replication process. Now, for each original monster, 100 new monsters were born with 9 permutations. Each original Comedy Monster has 5 additional uniques to itself.
In total, there will be a total of 10,100 monsters which will be more valuable depending on the one you get.
The levels of the monsters vary depending on the background you have. You will have 40 white bracelets, 25 good bracelets, 20 super bracelets, and 10 VIPs.
The most unique and original will be the Brutal Curtain, Brutal ETH, Brutal Sparks, Brutal Stain, and Brutal Wave. Each of these will have only one permutation. And obviously, you might also get the original when you mint them.
What Makes Comedy Monsters Club so Special?
The monsters of the Comedy Monsters Club as such are unique for several reasons. The first is that they are much more than an NFT that you can show. They are your gateway to a comedy club, where you, as the holder, can decide which comedian you want to see.
The Comedy Monsters Club is also currently the only NFT comedy club the world has ever known. Imagine going back in time and buying one of the first crypto punks - you have the chance to be one of the first to own a Comedy Monsters monster.
Also, the Comedy Monsters Club appears to be one of, if not the first, NFT club created in Latin America. In principle, they are targeting Spanish speakers who want to be part of the club. But, the plans are much bigger than that as you will see.
The Roadmap
The Comedy Monsters Club has a roadmap to follow. But the club has already shown itself to be unique in every aspect. Instead of giving estimated dates, the roadmap is based on the percentage of monsters sold.
The first milestone will be when 25% of the monsters have been minted. At that point, production will begin on the Comedy Monsters Podcast and more details will be provided for private events for holders.
When 50% of the monsters are sold, holders will have all the official information about the first Comedy Monsters Club festival, an event that is planned to be held annually.
After 50%, there are three more milestones. The first one will be at 75%. At that point, a series of contests and games exclusive to holders will begin where 50 ETH will be distributed among the winners.
At 85%, full details of the Comedy Monsters Foundation will be revealed. The Comedy Monsters Foundation will be a non-profit association. They will seek to raise funds through humorous events. They will also fund foundations around the world that use humor to help those in need. And finally, they will seek to financially support comedians with health problems.
Once all the monsters are sold, they will provide more details about Comedy Monsters Club USA. This second project will seek to replicate everything the club has done in the American market.
The Comedy Monsters Club is an extremely ambitious proposal. And to be honest, it has all the necessary elements to succeed.
