Hong Kong-based gaming giant Animoca Brands has set its sights on Bitcoin's developing Web3 ecosystem. They have announced intentions to build the largest Web3 ecosystem on Bitcoin, with a focus on gaming, education, and culture.
Animoca's plan includes the Opal Protocol and its native BLIF coin, developed in conjunction with metaverse developer Darewise.
The BLIF token, the foundation of the Opal Protocol, seeks to promote a "true digital life" on the Bitcoin network. Animoca sees Bitcoin evolving from monetary storage to a cultural hub for Web3.
Yat Siu, Animoca's co-founder, envisions a hybrid of virtual and real worlds in which finance, entertainment, education, and social components coexist in the digital domain.
As a pioneer, Animoca intends to incorporate all Bitcoin-related projects into the Opal Foundation. Although still in development, the Opal protocol is generating enthusiasm, with over 270,000 subscribers eager for its arrival.
The details of the Opal protocol's launch and the BLIF airdrop are still unknown, but they will be revealed shortly.
